Monday, November 7 2005 12:16 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Former Chief Justice of India, R.S Pathak, will head the Judicial Commission to go into some aspects of the Paul Volcker Committee report on Iraqi oil-pay offs.

The Government decided on the appointment of the Judicial Commission as the follow up of the fact-finding probe announced last night (Nov 6, 2005) under former diplomat Virender Dayal to gather material on the allegations made in the Volcker Report implicating External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh and the Congress party as beneficiaries of the pay-offs.

The terms of reference of the Judicial inquiry would be announced shortly, sources said.
