Mumbai: Popular television anchors Prabhu Chawla, Barkha Dutt and Amitabh Bachchan bagged the Hero Honda-Indian Television Academy (ITA) awards in the 'best anchor' categories at a glittering function here last night (Nov 7, 2005).

Chawla, who anchors the chat show 'Seedhi Baat' on Aaj Tak news channel, bagged the 'best anchor' award while Barkha Dutt of NDTV received the award for 'Big Fight' programme.

Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan won the best anchor award for popular TV game show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' which was also presented an award for the best game quiz show.

Shekhar Suman, anchor of political-comedy show 'Pol Khol' received award in the 'Best News Current Affairs Show' category.

The current youth rage 'Indian Idol', television's premier talent hunt show, was adjudged as 'The Best Music or Film-based Show.'

'The Best Reality Television Show' award went to 'Fame Gurukul' on Sony TV while ESPN was honoured with 'the Best Sports Channel' award.
