Cooperation vital for fact-finding mission: Dayal Tuesday, November 8 2005 18:37 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
Virendra Dayal, heading the fact-finding mission on the Volcker Committee report on Iraqi oil pay offs, today (Nov 08, 2005) said the success of his probe would depend on the cooperation of the people.
"It all depends on how cooperative people are. I have to use the diplomatic means to perform my functions. Let us see how the world reacts and how forthcoming people are", he said.
Dayal, a former UN Under Secretary-General and a former member of the National Human Rights Commission, said he was trying to constitute a small team and making a programme of action for himself so that "things can get out of the railway station and on to the track fast".
