6 killed as goods train rams into passenger train

Ranchi: Six persons were killed and 25 injured today (Nov 09, 2005) when a goods train rammed into a passenger train near Jharkhand's Barwadih railway station, about 170 kms from here.

Railway officials said four coaches of the passenger train capsized, while eight carriages of the goods train jumped off the rails in the collision.

The injured have been rushed to a nearby hospital, they said.

According to railway commercial room sources in Dhanbad, as the passenger train was moving out of Barwadih station the goods train hit it from behind.
