Country's airports put on alert; Threat reported
Thursday, November 10 2005 11:49 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Chennai: Security personnel across airports in the country have been put on general alert today (Nov 10, 2005) following a direction from the Centre regarding reports of a 'non-specific' threat.

Confirming the receipt of the direction, Chennai airport sources told PTI here that security of the airport has been beefed up even though the threat was not for any one particular airport and it was countrywide.

Particularly, all airport personnel, who entered or exited the operational area were being frisked before leaving the area, the sources said.
