Ayodhya temple attack: Jaish militant in held

New Delhi: A Jaish-e-Mohammad militant, who allegedly brought in the Ayodhya temple attackers from Bangladesh, has been arrested, police said today (November 11, 2005).

Abdul Baqi, 33, was arrested by the Special Cell of the Delhi Police when he arrived here from Kolkata last evening by Poorvanchal Express, Joint Commissioner (Special Cell) Karnal Singh told reporters.

Spotlight: The Ayodhya crisis

Baqi allegedly had smuggled in militants who attacked the makeshift Ram temple in Ayodhya in July.

Singh said police were not ruling out his involvement in the October 29 blasts and were questioning him in this regard as well.
