Narayanan's ashes to be immersed in River Ganga Saturday, November 12 2005 11:42 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

The ashes of former President K R Narayanan, who died here on Wednesday (Nov 9, 2005), would be immersed in river Ganga at Haridwar and taken to his native state Kerala on Monday (Nov 14, 2005).
The urn containing Narayanan's ashes would be taken to the holy city of Haridwar by his daughters Chitra and Amrita for immersion in the Ganga, family sources said here yesterday (Nov 11, 2005).
His ashes would also be taken to Kerala by the State Government and would be kept at the Secretariat Durbar Hall in Thiruvananthapuram and at Mamman Mapilla Hall in Kottayam for public to pay homage.
State Revenue Minister K M Mani and Backward Classes Minister A P Anil Kumar would receive the urn from family members of the late President here on Monday.
The 85-year-old diplomat-turned-politician breathed his last here on Wednesday after a brief illness.
