Delhi blasts: Paul surprised over J-K police's claim
Sunday, November 13 2005 17:47 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Delhi Police Commissioner K K Paul today (Nov 13, 2005) expressed surprise over the claim by Jammu and Kashmir police that Lashker-e-Toiba militant Tariq Ahmed Dar was kidnapped by terrorists.

"Well, I have no knowledge about this but the Jammu and Kashmir police was taken into confidence before picking him up for questioning", Paul told sources on Tariq's arrest.

J and K Police came out with a press note yesterday (Nov 13, 2005) showing Tariq as a victim who had been kidnapped by terrorists.

"Today one Tariq Ahmed Dar, son of Ghulam Qadir, a resident of Solina, Srinagar, was kidnapped by terrorists along with his Maruti car from gas turbine terminal in Pampore", a state police spokesman had said in the press note.

However, Paul said there is no question of any miscommunication as the state police had been informed about the arrest and their help was also sought.
