Miscreants vandalise Sree Narayana Guru Mandiram
Sunday, November 13 2005 19:47 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Alapuzha: Miscreants today (Nov 13, 2005) vandalised the Sree Narayana Guru Mandiram at Aravukad near here today.

The glass case in which the idol of the Guru was placed was shattered, but the idol remained intact, police said.

Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam general secretary Vellappalli Natesan said the attack appeared to be the handiwork of certain organised forces.

He wanted the government to conduct a thorough investigation as it did in the case of the attack on Bishop's House at Neyyattinkara.

Tourism Minister K C Venugopal was among the leaders who visited the spot. SNDP Yogam observed a hartal in the area today.
