'Left parties to fight UPA if CMP not implemented' Monday, November 14 2005 16:48 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Vijayawada:
Left parties would not hesitate to fight the United Progressive Alliance (Nov 14, 2005) Government both inside and outside Parliament, if the policies of Common Minimum Programme (CMP) were not implemented, Sudhakar Reddy, MP and Communist Party of India (CPI) national secretary said today (Nov 14, 2005).
Reddy, who was here to participate in the state CPI executive meeting, told reporters that the "UPA government should formulate foreign policy that are beneficial for Indians and not adopt pro-American policies, as exhibited in the voting against Iraq on nuclear issue".
CPI was also against FDI in navaratnas and wanted streamlining of public sector by providing all measures, he added.
On UPA government's proposed plans to amend the Labour Laws, he said it would be against the labour class, for which CPI would launch relentless agitation to uphold the labour classes' right.
Referring to yesterday's naxal attack at Jehanabad in Bihar, Reddy said the all-party committee should be invited to discuss the law and order situation in the state.
