Former President KRN's ashes taken to native Kerala

New Delhi: The ashes of former President K R Narayanan were today (Nov 14, 2005) taken to his native state Kerala for enabling public to pay homage to the departed leader.

The urn containing the ashes was formally received from his family by the state Revenue Minister K M Mani and Backward Classes Minister A P Anil Kumar at his residence.

The ashes would be kept at the Secretariat Durbar Hall in Thiruvananthapuram and at Mamman Mapilla Hall in Kottayam for public to pay homage.

The 85-year-old diplomat-turned-politician breathed his last here on Wednesday (Nov 9, 2005) following a brief illness.
