Raja Bhaiya surrenders before POTA court in Kanpur

Kanpur: Former Uttar Pradesh Minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya today (Nov 14, 2005) surrendered before a POTA court here in compliance with a Supreme Court order that revived POTA charges against him.

Along with him his father Uday Pratap Singh and cousin Akshay Pratap Singh also appeared before the POTA court.

The judge accepted the surrender applications of Raja Bhaiya and his father.

The POTA Judge, after accepting the surrender of the controversial MLA and his father, remanded them to judicial custody till November 26.

Akshay Pratap Singh has already obtained bail from the Allahabad High Court, defence counsel D D Mehta said.

He said that the arguments and bail application of the accused would be heard later in the day.
