At least six people were killed and several others injured in two massive bomb explosions in Pakistan's second largest city of Karachi, including one near an outlet of a popular United States fast food chain.
State-run PTV said that two blasts, believed to be caused by car bombs, went off in central Karachi in quick succession.
According to reports from Karachi, one car bomb exploded in the premises of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) restaurant, an outlet of the US fast food giant, while the other went off between two of the city's main five-star hotels Pearl Continental and Sheraton.
The blast caused massive damage and destruction. The KFC building was engulfed in fires. Local TV channels have shown several vehicles, mainly cars burning as a result of the explosion.
