Officer in-charge of Biraul police station in Baheri assembly constituency area, Shivnath Ram, was suspended today (Nov 15, 2005) and the block dvelopment officer and two patrolling magistrates issued show cause for failure of the security forces to reach four booths resulting in suspension of polling there on November 13, official sources said.
Deputy Inspector General of Police, Darbhnaga, R K Singh held the OC guilty for the failure of the security force to reach booths number 197, 197a, 203 and 204 and ordered his immediate suspension, the sources added.
Polling at these four booths will now be held tomorrow on the directives of the Election Commission, Darbhanga district magistrate-cum returning officer upendra sharma said.
Sharma issued show cause to Biraul BDO Pramod Kumar and patrolling magistrates Sunil Kumar Singh and Mohammad Sibutullah for not informing the headquarters about non-reaching of the force at these booths and failing to make alternative arrangements on the polling day.
State RJD president Abdul Bari Siddiqui is in the field from Baheri seat in Darbhanga district.
