Hazaribag (Jharkhand): An encounter took place between the police and the naxalites in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh district today (Nov 15, 2005), police sources said.

The naxalites fled after the encounter in Bundu area under Keredari police station in Hazaribag district, the sources said.

Police sources claimed that blood stains were found at the encounter site indicating naxal casualty. But no body or injured person was spotted so far, they said adding search and raids were going on.

Raids are being carried out on the borders of Hazaribag and Chatra districts.

Ever since the November 11 attack on Homeguard Training Centre in Giridih following by the daring 'jail-break operation' in Jehanabad, both by the CPI (Maoist), Jharkhand has been on a high alert with security being beefed up at all police lines and possible escape routes.
