Stamp paper case: Karim Telgi's wife surrenders

Pune: Wife of prime accused Abdul Karim Telgi, Shahida, who is also chargesheeted in the multi-crore fake stamp paper case, today (Nov 15, 2005) surrendered after having failed to appear before the court on two occasions earlier.

Special Judge B N Sardespande had issued process against Shahida on September 16 under various sections of Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) and IPC.

Shahida was brought in a wheelchair to the court and moved an application for bail.

After hearing the arguments of both the defence lawyer Harshad Nimbalkar and special Public Prosecutor Raja Thakre, the court reserved its order on her bail application until this evening.
