DHC moved on unauthorised holding of Govt bungalows

New Delhi: The Centre today (Nov 16, 2005) informed the Supreme Court that it will move an application before the Delhi High Court requesting it to dispose within two months the pending cases relating to unauthorised occupation of Government bunglows by politicians, bureaucrats and others.

Solicitor General G E Vahanvati informed a Bench comprising Justice B N Agarwal and Justice A K Mathur that the Government had succeeded in getting 117 out of 465 quarters from unauthorised occupation vacated.

The Centre also said that Bihar Governor Buta Singh has also vacated the premises which he held at Delhi.

The apex court granted time till January 24 to the Centre to take necessary steps for getting the unauthorized occupation of bunglows vacated.
