TADA court to allow Abu Salem to meet his lawyers Wednesday, November 16 2005 20:08 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Mumbai:
A special court today (Nov 16, 2005) directed the CBI to allow extradited don Abu Salem an interview with two lawyers of his choice for an hour on every alternate day.
The order was passed by designated TADA Judge P D Kode who heard a complaint made by Salem's lawyers Ashok Sarogi and O A Siddiqui that CBI was not following earlier orders of the court to this effect.
The judge made it clear to CBI that it was bound by its earlier order and that the agency should allow two lawyers to meet Salem and the choice of lawyers would totally depend upon the accused.
On November 11, while remanding Salem to police custody, the court had passed an order asking CBI to allow his lawyers to meet him in custody.
