When the petition came up today, Justice Sardar Zackriya Hussain adjourned the hearing by 10 days after the Government advocate M S Kandasamy sought time to file the counter in response to the bail petition.

In his petition, Appu, who has been detained under the Goondas act, contended that he suffered from a heart ailment and required constant check-up. Being lodged in jail, it was not possible. He also sought bail taking into consideration of his aged mother.
