Mulayam scorns Sudarshan's 3-child norm for Hindus Friday, November 18 2005 18:12 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
Samajwadi Party President and U.P. Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today (Nov 18, 2005) criticized Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief K S Sudarshan's advice to Hindus to produce more than three children saying it would not gel with people as the only issue before them was development.
"It has no sense. Now Temple and Masjid issue will not click. Development is the only issue before the people who want employment, roads, water, power", Yadav told reporters after inaugurating his state Pavilion at the India International Trade Fair (IITF) here.
"Let Sudarshan do what ever attempt he wants to do in this regard (apparently referring to consolidating Hindu votes by making such statements)", Yadav said adding that the RSS
chief should save his own fold which was bogged down with internal squabbles.
Pointing towards the country's changing demographic profile, Sudarshan has yesterday asked Hindus to produce not less than three children and called for an end to the majority-minority concept.
