Moderate intensity quake jolts India-Myanmar border

New Delhi: An earthquake of moderate intensity occurred in the India-Myanmar border region in the wee hours today (Nov 19, 2005).

Spotlight: Quake in North India

Measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale, the tremor which struck at 00.26 IST was also felt in Meghalaya's capital Shillong, the Meterological Department said here.

The quake had its epicentre at 27.1 North latitude and 96.3 East longitude, they said.
