New Delhi:
Counting of votes in the Bihar assembly elections would be taken up tomorrow (Nov 22, 2005) for which 41 centers have been set up at various district headquarters in the state.
The counting, to start at 8 am, would be taken up simultaneously in all the centers which would come under strictest scrutiny by the poll officials, Chief Election Commissioner B B Tandon told sources.
Since the polling was conducted through Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), the counting process is expected to complete within a couple of hours.
"Foolproof security arrangements have been made in all the centers and in a bid to ensure complete fairness, digital cameras would be installed and videography taken, "he said.
"An Election Commission team has already been sent to Patna. It will prepare a notification duly constituting the new assembly and hand it over to the Governor (Buta Singh)," Tandon said.
The Commission is under mandate to hold elections to constitute the new Legislative Assembly in Bihar within six months from the date of dissolution of last assembly by
November 22.
