Uma Bharti rules out any show of strength in MP
Monday, November 21 2005 14:26 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): Notwithstanding the political upheaval against Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Babulal Gaur staged by her loyalists, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fiery sanyasin Uma Bharti today (Nov 21,2005) ruled out any show of strength at Bhopal over it.

"There will be no kind of show of strength at Bhopal tomorrow (Nov 22, 2005)," Bharti said, replying to reporters' queries on reports in local media claiming that her loyalists were preparing to gather at the state capital to press their demand for her return a Chief Minister.

"However, the people of Bihar will show their strength in Delhi on that day (tomorrow)," said the co-in charge of BJP's campaigning in recently concluded polls in Bihar.

To a query about the number of MLAs who supported her for ouster of Gaur, Bharti said, "All the 172 MLAs are of BJP and thus everybody's."

She said some MLAs had approached her on October 16 with their grievances, which she presented before the party high command.

Asked if the BJP was being unjust to the people of the state by projecting her as the Chief Minister during assembly polls and keeping her away from the post at present, the fiery sanyasin said, "I will reply to this after November 24."

Bharti, who arrived here for a rousing welcome from her supporters this morning, visited several temples before leaving for Mhow and Indore.
