After a gap of over three months, Kanchi Sankaracharya Jayendra Saraswathi and his Junior Vijayendra Saraswathi yesterday (Nov 20, 2005) night arrived here, where they camped since their release on bail in the Sankararaman murder case.
Mutt sources said the seers, who arrived from Tirupati after over three-month long stay to observe 'Chaturmasya', would leave for Villupuram in the evening to visit a temple there. Earlier, they had planned to stay here for three days.
From Villupuram, they would be going to Pondicherry, where the trial in the Sankararaman murder case is to begin on Nov 26 at a session's court.
On October 26, the Supreme Court had ordered the shifting of the case pending against Jayendra Saraswathi and others before the Principal Sessions court, Chengalpattu, to the
Principal District and Sessions Court, Pondicherry.
After the release of the seers on bail they had been staying in Kalavai, but later they left for Tirupati to stay for three months to observe 'Chaturmasya'.
