President Kalam honors 2 IAF formations ASTE, IAM Monday, November 21 2005 14:50 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

President A P J Abdul Kalam today (Nov 21, 2005) honored two Indian Air Force formations with the presentation of the Presidential Standard to Aircraft and Systems Testing Establishment (ASTE) and Colors to Institute of Aerospace Medicine (IAM) here today.
According to IAF, the award of standard/colors is a great honor bestowed by the President in recognition of the service rendered by a unit to the nation.
At the presentation ceremony, the President commended the contribution of ASTE, IAF's only flight test agency, and IAM, the hub of aerospace medicine activities in the country. Both are based here.
Kalam called for procurement of a full-fledged human centrifuge. According to IAM officials, human centrifuge and the decompression and hyperbaric chambers are in the process of being procured.
He released a first day cover on the occasion. The presentation ceremony, attended among others by Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal S P Tyagi, was followed by a flying display by Sarang and Suryakiran aerobatics team.
