New Delhi:
Janta Dal United, JD(U) today (Nov 22, 2005) said the results of the Bihar Assembly elections would have a profound impact on the UPA coalition in the Centre which may fall apart in a year.
"The results of the Bihar polls will have a great impact on the Centre. The UPA alliance may break in a year," JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav said here.
Expressing satisfaction at the latest trend indicating an NDA sweep, he said the alliance was supported by members of all caste and communities and "caste equations played no role.
"People in Bihar have realised that Lalu Prasad would never change and do nothing for the state," he said.
Yadav described LJP president Ram Vilas Paswan as an "oldfriend" but said the question of joining hands with him did not arise in the present scenario as the NDA was looking at a comfortable majority.
The JD (U) leader said the main task before the new government in Bihar would be to bring back the administration into the right track and show people a change in all sphere of their life within six months.
