With the successful completion of Bihar elections, the seats distribution to various parties are as given below.
Janata Dal-United (JD-U) contested for 139 seats and won 87 and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) contested for 102 seats and won 55 seats in total. JD(U) and BJP, which together form National democratic Alliance (NDA), has won a total of 142 seats.
Secular Democratic Front (SDF) has won 65 seats. The constituent parties forming SDF, like Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) won 54 seats of 175, Indian Nationalist Congress (INC) won 9 of 51 seats, National Congress Party (NCP) won just 1 seat of 8 seats and the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) too just won 1 of 11 seats.
The independents won 10 seats of a total of 748.
Ram Vilas Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) won 11 of 201 seats whereas the Communist Party of India (CPI) won just 3 seats from the total of 36 contested seats. Samajwadi Party (SP), which contested for 159 seats, won just 2 seats. Communist Party of India-Maxist & Leninist (CPI-ML) contested for 83 seats to win 4 seats. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) won 4 seats from a total of 212 contested seats. SJP(R) and AJVD won 1 seat each.
