Priya Dutt wins Mumbai North-West Lok Sabha seat

Mumbai: Congress today (Nov 22, 2005) retained the Mumbai North West Lok Sabha seat when its candidate Priya Dutt defeated her rival Madhukar Sarpotdar of Shiv Sena by a huge margin of 1,72,043 votes.

At the end of 13th and final round of counting, Dutt polled 343,933 votes, while her rival Madhukar Sarpotdar of the Shiv Sena polled 171,890 votes.
