New Delhi:
Both Houses of Parliament today (Nov 23, 2005) expressed their firm resolve to combat terrorism and defeat the designs of perpetrators of such crimes against humanity.
"Such horrendous acts make us more steadfast in our resolve to fight the menace of terrorism and defeat the designs of perpetrators of such crimes against humanity", Lok
Sabha speaker Somnath Chatterjee said paying homage to the people who had perished in the October 29 triple blasts in the capital.
The blasts on the eve of Diwali and Eid were timed to disturb the communal harmony in the country, he said.
"No words are strong enough to condemn this heinous act," Rajya Sabha Chairman Bhairon Singh Shekhawat said the killing of so many innocent persons has shocked the entire nation and peace-loving mankind all over the world.
"Such mindless and barbaric acts of terrorism require to be dealt with firmly and unitedly" he said. The blasts, the worst ever terror strike in Delhi, had left 65 people dead and 155 injured.
"I am sure that the whole House will join me in condemning this cowardly and sense less act and in offering condolences to the bereaved families and pray for early recovery of those who got injured in these blasts", he said.
The two Houses also expressed shock over the multiple terrorist attacks on innocent civilians in Amman (Jordan) on November nine in which several persons were killed.
