A Special court today (Nov 23, 2002) disallowed an application of an advocate, who arrived from Delhi, seeking permission of the court to meet Monica Bedi, girl friend of underworld don Abu Salem.
Ruchir Batra, who flew in here from Delhi, told reporters that he was hired by Monica Bedi's uncle Purushotham Lal Bedi, a native of Hoshiyarpur in Punjab, who wanted to meet her in Chanchalguda jail here.
Batra filed an application before the special CBI judge C V Subramanyam seeking permision to meet her.
Disallowing the application, the judge asked the advocate to file it through proper channel as he did not submit no objection certificate from the counsel already representing the case on behalf of Monica Bedi.
Monica Bedi is in judicial remand till November 25 and she is lodged in Chanchalguda jail here on charges of passport forgery case.
Meanwhile, Monica Bedi's local lawyer G Babu Rao said jail authorities today refused to permit him to meet his client.
