A special CBI court here today (Nov 25, 2005) extended till December nine the judicial remand of Monica Bedi, the underworld don Abu Salem's girl-friend, who was brought here on November 11 to face trial in a passport forgery case.
Bedi, who is lodged in Chanchalguda central prison here, was produced before the judge through a videoconference link between the jail and the special CBI court at Secunderabad.
A bail petition filed last week on her behalf will come up for hearing on November 28.
Meanwhile, Abu Salem's lawyer Ashok Swaraj told reporters at the court that he was receiving threatening SMS messages for representing the mafia don.
Bedi, a former Bollywood starlet extradited from Portugal along with the gangster, was flown to the city on November 11.
She had secured passport in 2001 from Hyderabad under fictitious name and address and has been booked under sections various sections of IPC, PC Act and Passport Act.
