PM wants to be retained in Lok Pal, says Bhardwaj
Friday, November 25 2005 16:39 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Noting that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh himself wants to be in the ambit of the Lok Pal Bill, Union Law Minister Hansraj Bhardwaj today (Nov 25, 2005) said that Cabinet would take a final decision on the issue.

"Prime Minister himself wants to be retained in the Lok Pal. He is one of us. We will consider and once the Cabinet decides that would be the decision," he said.

Bharadwaj said that there were two opinions of the issue.

"Several former Prime Ministers like I K Gujral have explained that PM should not be brought in the ambit of Lok Pal. I also subscribe to that view. But many friends subscribe to the view to the contrary. We will reconcile them and deal with the problem," he told NDTV.
