Pannian Ravindran takes oath as Lok Sabha member

New Delhi: Pannian Ravindran, newly elected Communist Party of India (CPI) member from Thiruvananthapuram constituency, today (Nov 25, 2005) took oath in the Lok Sabha.

Amid thumping of desks from all sides of the House, Ravindran took oath in Malayalam.

He defeated the UDF nominee, V S Shivakumar, at the recent byelection caused by the death of veteran party leader and former Kerala Chief Minister P K Vasudevan Nair.
