Nitish to move into 1 Anne Marg residence of Lalu Saturday, November 26 2005 10:46 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Patna:
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar would soon move to 1 Anne Marg, the sprawling house of the former Chief Minister Rabri Devi who has been asked to vacate, official sources said here last night (Nov 25, 2005).
"Kumar will be shifting to 1 Anne Marg, the house where successive Chief Ministers had stayed for the past over 20 years," Chief Secretary G S Kang said while replying to queries by media men.
Kang said the house was allotted to successive Chief Ministers, including Bindeshwari Dubey, since August 18, 1985 and funds worth several lakhs of rupees were spent on adding infrastructures required to help ease the functioning of Chief Minister there.
"Obviously, the same house will be suitable for the stay of new Chief Minister," he said.
In reply to another question, he said the former Chief Ministers Rabri Devi and Lalu Prasad would be allotted a separate house in the VIP security zone in accordance with the Bihar Security Act and a list of such houses would be made available to them to decide which one would be suitable for them.
"We will be sending a team of officials who will request them to decide which of the house figuring in the list will suit them," Kang said, adding he had no idea about the time-limit given by the state building department to the former Chief Minister to vacate 1 Anne Marg.
