Bihar: Rameshwar of JD (U) to be inducted in cabinet

Patna: Rameshwar Paswan of Janata Dal (JD) United (U) will be inducted into the Nitish Kumar cabinet in place of Jitan Ram Manjhi, who had resigned hours after being sworn in on November 24, official sources said today (Nov 26, 2005).

Sources said Paswan, party mla from Sikandra, will be administered oath of office and secrecy by Governor Buta Singh at Rajbhavan tomorrow.

Paswan, who had won the last election on Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) ticket before crossing over to JD(U), is being inducted to give adequate representation to dalits after the exit of Manjhi, who was also a dalit leader.

Manjhi had resigned on the night of November 24 hours after being sworn in as it came to the Chief Minister's notice that he was facing corruption charges.
