AP: Reddy rules out talks of sharing Krishna waters
Sunday, November 27 2005 09:15 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Gulbarga: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajashekhar Reddy yesterday (Nov 26, 2005) ruled out holding talks outside the Krishna water dispute tribunal regarding sharing of Krishna waters under 'Scheme B' among the riparian states, including Karnataka.

Reddy, here to participate in a private programme, was speaking to reporters at the helipad here.

When pointed out that even though the Tribunal had been constituted one year back by the Union Government, it had not so far had any sittings, Reddy said pressurising the tribunal is not a healthy thing. Tribunal would take time to fix the hearing at an appropriate time.

Asked about the joint operation to curb Naxalite activities in the border areas of both Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, he said his state was coordinating with Karnataka including conducting joint operations in the hill areas.
