Gaur tenders resignation to BJP president Advani

Bhopal: Babulal Gaur today (Nov 27, 2005) submitted his resignation as Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh to BJP party President L K Advani.

In a faxed message to Advani, Gaur said he was stepping down in deference to the party leadership and its ideals.

The resignation came a day after the party appointed Shivraj Singh Chauhan as tbe new Chief minister capping hectic political activity and dealing a blow to fiery Sanayasin Uma Bharti's efforts to stage a comeback.

He expressed his gratitude to Advani for his guidance and said that he would continue to serve the party as a committed worker.

Gaur is expected to tender his resignation to Governor Balram Jakhar, later as he is out of town, sources said.
