Rabri Devi asked to vacate; allotted 10 Circular Road Sunday, November 27 2005 13:08 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Patna:
It's official now. After living at 1 Anne Marg for 15 years, former Chief Minister Rabri Devi has been served with the notice to leave the bungalow for the new CM Nitish Kumar and allotted 10 Circular Road, the bungalow occupied by her brother Anirudh Prasad alias Sadhu Yadav during Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) reign.
"10, Circular Road has been allotted to Rabri Devi", Secretary Building Construction department, Arun Kumar Singh told PTI today.
No time limit has been set for the former CM to shift to her new dwelling, but she has been asked to do so at the earliest, Singh added.
10 Circular Road bungalow had been renamed by the former occupant (Sadhu Yadav, RJD MP) as '10 Janpath' a la the residence of Congress president Sonia Gandhi at New Delhi.
RJD president and former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad has also been asked to vacate his 10 Desratna Marg bungalow (which had a common pathway connecting with the 1 Anne Marg) and stay with Rabri at 10 Circular Road bungalow.
While new Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will move into the 1 Anne Marg, that had been symbol of power during 15 years of the RJD rule, his close friend and now Human Resources Development minister Brishen Patel will occupy Lalu's.
Moving out of 1 Anne Marg would definitely be painful for the Lalu-Rabri as their two daughters were married from the same building and their children grew up there.
Sheds for hundreds of cows, stable for horses, ponds for fish and a swimming pool were constructed at the 1 Anne Marg bungalow during stay of Rabri and Lalu and moving them out would not be an easy exercise.
