Tigers issue ultimatum to Sri Lanka Government
Sunday, November 27 2005 20:02 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Colombo: Tamil Tiger leader Velupillai Prabhakaran today (Nov 27,2005) asked the Sri Lankan Government to come up with a political settlement before the end of the year or risk the rebels establishing a 'Self-Government.'

Prabhakaran in his annual policy statement said the Government of President Mahinda Rajapakse should put forward 'a reasonable political framework' to meet the aspirations of minority Tamils.

"This is our urgent and final appeal," he said.

"If the new Government rejects our urgent appeal, we will, next year establish self-Government in our homeland," he said.
