New tremor measuring 5.5 hits Iranian island Qeshm

Tehran: An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale hit the island of Qeshm off southern Iran yesterday (Nov 27, 2005), hours after a larger, fatal tremor hit the same area the official sources reported.

There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties following the earthquake, which happened at 8:41 pm (2241 IST), the agency said.
