Dhaka:
At least 13 people were killed and more than 40 injured when suspected suicide bombers targeted two court premises in Bangladesh today (Nov 29, 2005), witnesses and media reports said.
At least 10 people were killed and 40 others injured in a suicide attack by suspected JMB militants in the lawyer's room in Gazipur court premises, sources reported.
In the second incident, two policemen and a suspected Islamic militant were killed at a check post at the entry of the Chittagong court in south-eastern Bangladesh when suspected suicide bombers launched an attack, witnesses said.
None has claimed responsibility for the attacks so far, but the banned Jamatul Mujaheedin Bangladesh (JMB), which seeks to establish strict Islamic rule in the Muslim-majority country, carried out previous attacks on courts.
Two weeks ago, two assistant judges were killed in the southern town of Jhalakathi by a suspected suicide attacker also allegedly linked to the banned group.
Another four people were killed and dozens injured in bomb attacks in August and October, targeting government buildings and courts.
