Chauhan swears-in as Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister

Bhopal: Shivraj Singh Chauhan was sworn in as the 28th Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh today (Nov 29, 2005).

Chauhan was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor Balram Jakhar in the presence of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President L K Advani, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and a galaxy of senior leaders at Raj Bhavan.

Among those present at the swearing-in ceremony were senior BJP leaders, including Jaswant Singh, Pramod Mahajan, Rajnath Singh as Chauhan took oath in Hindi.

His predecessor Babulal Gaur and state BJP in-charge Kailash Joshi as also several ministers of Gaur Government were present at the function.

Chauhan is expected to form his ministry shortly after holding consultations with senior party leaders.
