Newly-elected Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislature party leader in Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan yesterday night (Nov 28, 2005) met Governor Balram Jakhar who invited him to form government today (Nov 29, 2005).
Chouhan, who was accompanied by outgoing Chief Minister Babulal Gaur, submitted the letter pertaining to his election as the legislature party leader to the Governor, official
sources said.
The swearing-in ceremony is slated to be held at Raj Bhawan today, they said.
Senior BJP leaders, including Pramod Mahajan, Kailash Joshi, Kaptan Singh Solanki and Dhyanendra Singh were present during the brief meeting with Jakhar.
Gaur submitted his resignation, which was accepted, and Jakhar asked him to continue till Chouhan is sworn in as the new Chief Minister.
