Tuesday, November 29 2005 10:15 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Jammu: Five persons, including a woman, from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir yesterday (Nov 28, 2005) crossed the Line of Control via Tata Pani in Poonch district to meet their relatives in the quake-torn areas of Jammu and Kashmir.

Though a group of 10 people had come from PoK to crossover to this side of LoC, five had to go back after it was found that two children among them had no permits to enter the Indian side, official sources said here.

The other five - Amir Kaiser Dawood, Sardar Suhail Mehmood, Raja Mohammad Iqbal, Tariq Mohammad and Mohammad Bee - who entered the Indian side at around 1525 hours, belonged to Kotli area of PoK, the sources said.

The two children who had no permits were Shajia Buttal (7) and Mohammad Ashfaq (4) who, along with their parents Sayeed Mohiul Hussain and Sayeed Jabeen and one Sayeed Mubeen, returned to PoK.

Administrator of Kotli and other civil and army officers from PoK were present at the crossing point while sub-district magistrate of Poonch Bachan Singh and other officers from Indian side received the five PoK residents on this side.

However, no one from Indian side crossed the LoC to go to PoK today, the sources said adding likewise on November 21, when first of the five points along LoC - Chakan da Bagh - was opened for human traffic in Poonch district, no PoK citizen had crossed the LoC.

As part of their decision to provide succour to quake affected people, India and Pakistan have opened five points along LoC to allow movement of relief material and people to meet their relatives.
