BJP serves show-cause notice to suspended Bharati Wednesday, November 30 2005 17:22 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
Charging her with openly defying the unanimous decision of the Central Parliamentary Board and deliberately defaming the party and its leaders, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today (Nov 30, 2005) served show-cause notice on suspended leader Uma Bharati asking her to explain within three days why she should not be expelled from the party.
The notice, issued by party Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, has been served at both her Delhi and Bhopal residences and she has been asked to respond to it by December 2, party sources told.
The party, in the show-cause notice served under Article 25 of the party constitution, charged her with openly defying, criticising and defaming the unanimous decisions of the supreme decision-making body, the Central Parliamentary Board, which decided to appoint Shivraj Singh Chauhan as Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister in the print and electronic media.
BJP claimed her activities inside and outside the BJP legislature party meeting in Bhopal on Monday (Nov 28, 2005) violated party discipline and tarnished the organisation's image, sources said.
