Mumbai: Superstar Amitabh Bachchan, who underwent a successful operation for infection, inflammation and perforation in the small and large intestine at Leelavati Hospital today (December 01, 2005), will remain in the hospital for at least a week, sources said.

A team of four gastro surgeons were present during the surgery, sources said.

After the surgery, Bachchan was shifted to the recovery room and would be advised on his diet tomorrow, sources said.
