The condition of megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who underwent an operation for intestinal problem at Leelavati Hospital in suburban Bandra, is better and is responding to treatment, Samajwadi Party leader and his close friend, Amar Singh said here today (Dec 1, 2005).
Singh who visited Amitabh at the hospital, told reporters that the Bollywood star was in ICU and the vital parameters were normal.
"Bachchan has thanked the media and also the people at large, for showing concern towards his health and extending wishes for a speedy recovery," Amar Singh said, clarifying that the superstar has asked him to convey his message.
Among the visitors at the hospital included Shiv Sena Executive President, Uddhav Thackeray and his wife, industrialist Anil Ambani, Chairman of Sahara group, Subrato Roy, film stars, Jayaprada, Kiron Kher, film makers Madhur Bhandarkar, Ram Gopal Verma, Tinu Anand etc.
