New Delhi: Center has ordered to clear the backlog of SC and ST in Government jobs by this month-end and is considering the report of a Group of Ministers, which went into the issue of reservation in private sector, the Lok Sabha was informed today (Dec 1,2005).

Steel Minister Ram Vilas Paswan stated this during zero hour while responding to Sukhdeo Paswan Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) who wanted immediate filling of the backlog pending for years. He also pleaded for reservation of jobs for the scheduled castes and tribes in multinational companies.

The Minister said that the report of the GoM was being considered and the Welfare Ministry was coordinating the matter.
