'Final decision on DIC(K) only after consulting PB' Thursday, December 1 2005 18:48 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Kozhikode:
The Communist Party of India-Marxist CPI(M), leading the Opposition Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala, will take a final decision on admitting the newly-formed Democratic Indira Congress-Karunakaran (DIC-K) as its ally only after consulting the party politburo, Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan said.
"It is only after holding discussions with the politburo that a final decision can be taken on the matter," he told reporters here.
On the reported charges that DIC(K) leader, K Karunakaran had played a mediator's role to purchase Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) votes during the recent Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha by-election, he said the allegations had been levelled by the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) and the BJP only to hide their secret pact.
Asserting that the LDF would do everything to expose all those behind various sex racket cases in the state, Achuthanandan accused the Oommen Chandy Government of trying to shield the culprits.
