Staunch loyalist of Uma Bharti and former union Minister Prahlad Patel, today (December 1, 2005) resigned from BJP, two day after he was suspended following "unruly and violent" scenes during the legislature party meeting which elected Shivraj Singh Chouhan its leader.
"I have submitted my resignation to state party leadership its my decision to continue supporting Uma Bharti and participate in her padyatra," Patel told PTI here.
"Its better to be out of the party and speak about it, rather than that being its member and causing it harm," he said.
Asked about any move by Bharti on same lines, Patel said the fiery sanyasin still has an option to return to the mainstream in the party.
"But its my conscious decision to quit an close all options for myself. However, I will continue to work on the BJP ideology," he said.
